Dr. Marcelo Papelbaum is an adult specialist psychiatrist with an MSc, PhD and approximately 25 years of experience. His principal field of expertise is eating disorders and the relationship between psychiatry, eating, weight and metabolic illness.
Care begins with a thorough medical and psychiatric assessment, review of previous treatment and a plan tailored to the clinical situation and the patient’s goals.

Dr. Papelbaum’s research explores the intersection of mental health, eating behaviour and metabolic illness—and brings scientific knowledge into careful clinical assessment and treatment.
Dr. Marcelo Papelbaum is a psychiatrist with an MSc and PhD in Psychiatry and Mental Health from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). His research has addressed eating disorders in people with diabetes, binge-eating disorder, depression, obesity, and psychiatric aspects of bariatric surgery and weight regain.
His publications include original studies, systematic reviews and a meta-analysis in peer-reviewed journals. He currently practices as a psychiatry specialist at the Eating Disorders Center at Sheba Medical Center, integrating research experience with clinical care.

In-person appointments are available on Sundays and Tuesdays at 15:45, 17:00 and 18:00. For an initial assessment, 15:45 or 18:00 is preferred.
